You’ll contribute to building a modern data foundation that transforms operational signals from energy systems into insights used for strategic decision-making. This is a mid-level data engineering role focused on building scalable pipelines and supporting analytics and AI workflows across a major energy platform. The Opportunity: You’ll work within a collaborative Data & AI team responsible for building a governed Lakehouse architecture that powers analytics and reporting across large renewable energy initiatives. The role offers hands-on experience delivering data pipelines and models that support offshore wind projects and grid transformation programmes. This is an opportunity to build production data systems that directly support the transition to cleaner energy. What you will do: • Design, build, and operate ELT/ETL and streaming pipelines that feed reliable data products into the bronze, silver, and gold Lakehouse/Warehouse layers. • Utilise Microsoft Fabric and Azure Synapse to build and optimise pipelines, effectively carrying out large-scale transformations using Fabric Notebooks with PySpark and SQL. • Create data models optimised for BI/analytics and Direct Lake consumption, ensuring performance for Power BI and reporting tools. • Implement governance, lineage, and security measures such as Purview, RBAC, and data masking; contribute to SLAs, SLOs, and data contracts to maintain data integrity for downstream users. • Collaborate with data architects, analysts, DevOps, and product owners to refine requirements, productionise pipelines, and iterate on data products. • Adopt best practices for data quality, performance tuning, and cost-efficient processing while troubleshooting and maintaining production data flows.
