Roveel remains the go-to out-of-the-box analytics solution for SMEs seeking impactful data insights.\n\nPosition Overview:\n\nWe are seeking a Mid-Level Data Engineer to join our growing team. You will collaborate with our existing data engineer to develop and optimise data queries and views from our customer’s accounting data. Your expertise will play a crucial role in enhancing the performance and efficiency of our data solutions, directly impacting the value we deliver to our clients.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\n- Data Modelling: Create and maintain datasets and dashboards for our customers.\n\n- Query Optimisation: Write efficient and performant database queries in PostgreSQL and MS SQL.\n\n- Custom Dashboards: Work closely with our Sales team to design, cost and implement bespoke work for customers.\n\n- Collaboration: Work closely with our front-end (Angular) and back-end (C# WebAPI) engineers to ensure dashboards are fully functional, contribute to the continuous improvement of our tooling and processes, and effectively communicate any issues to the engineering team.\n\n- Performance Tuning: Analyse and optimise database performance, addressing any bottlenecks or issues. Give feedback and recommendations to aid our DevOPs as we scale customers.\n\n- Documentation: Maintain clear documentation for source code and for any processes and configuration used in the role.\n\n- Quality Assurance: Participate in code reviews and contribute to testing efforts to ensure high-quality deliverables.\n\nQualifications & Experience:\n\n- Experience: 2+ years of experience in data engineering or a similar role.\n\nTechnical Skills:\n\no Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries and optimising query performance.\n\no Good experience with PostgreSQL, any other dialects such as MS SQL or similar a plus.\n\no Familiarity with Postgres databases and their configuration. Other engines or API’s such as MS SQL Server, ODBC a plus.\n\no Familiarity with using Sage products and / or their accounting data would be advantageous.
