Job Title: NOC L1 Engineer Job Summary We are seeking a vigilant and detail-oriented NOC L1 Engineer to join our 24x7 Network Operations Center. As a frontline guardian of our network infrastructure, you will be responsible for the continuous monitoring of our systems, servers, and network elements. This is a critical role focused on the initial detection, triage, and documentation of events and incidents. You will be the first to respond to alerts, following established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to perform basic troubleshooting and ensure swift escalation of complex issues to higher-tier engineers. The ideal candidate is a process-driven individual with strong communication skills and a foundational understanding of network technologies, who thrives in a fast-paced, structured environment. Responsibilities ● Utilize advanced network monitoring tools to continuously track the performance, availability, and health of network infrastructure, servers, and applications. ● Act as the rest point of contact for all automated alerts and alarms, performing initial assessment of severity and impact to initiate the appropriate response procedures. ● Perform rest-level troubleshooting for straightforward network issues, following documented SOPs and runbooks to resolve common problems related to connectivity, hardware, and software. ● Meticulously document all activities, including incident creation, troubleshooting steps taken, and resolution details, within the corporate ticketing system (e. g. , ServiceNow, Remedy). ● Escalate unresolved or complex incidents to NOC L2 Engineers in a timely and efficient manner, providing clear and concise information to facilitate rapid resolution. ● Provide clear and consistent updates to internal stakeholders and customers regarding incident status and progress, ensuring transparency throughout the incident lifecycle. ● Assist with basic network configuration tasks and the execution of pre-approved, routine maintenance activities under the guidance of senior engineers. ● Participate in shift handovers, effectively communicating the status of ongoing issues to ensure operational continuity. Requirements ● 1-3 years of experience in a Network Operations Center (NOC), IT help desk, or a similar technical support role. ● A Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related eld is preferred. Relevant experience will be considered. ● Foundational knowledge of networking concepts and protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and an understanding of LAN/WAN environments. ● Hands-on experience with network monitoring tools (e. g. , SolarWinds, Nagios, Datadog) and trouble-ticketing systems. ● Strong problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to troubleshooting. ● Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong emphasis on customer service. ● Ability to work in a 24x7 shift-based environment, including nights, weekends, and holidays. ● Industry certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CompTIA A+, or Cisco Certified Technician (CCT) are highly desirable. ● Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment.
