  "job_description": "MI/Reporting and Data Analyst\n\nLocation: (Hybrid Role – 2-4 days per week in Essex area or Manchester onsite), the rest remote\n\nStart: ASAP\n\nDuration: 6 months initially plus likely extension (inside IR35)\n\nAbout the Role\n\nWe are seeking a driven Business/Reporting and Data Analyst to join our team. This is a pivotal role for someone who thrives on turning complex data into clear, actionable insights and is passionate about building reporting solutions that drive informed decision-making. You will take end-to-end ownership of reporting and analytics delivery, working closely with stakeholders to design and build robust dashboards, reports and analysis and ensure the quality and accuracy of all reporting outputs.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n• Design, build and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards, developing data models, DAX calculations and Power Query transformations to support accurate, performant reporting\n• Interrogate and analyse large, complex datasets to identify trends, anomalies and opportunities, translating findings into clear narratives for technical and non-technical audiences\n• Lead the testing and validation of reporting outputs, including UAT, regression testing and reconciliation against source systems, developing test plans and documenting expected outcomes\n• Act as the key point of contact between business stakeholders and technical teams, translating business problems into data and reporting solutions\n• Own problems end-to-end, from initial question through to delivered solution, proactively identifying reporting gaps and recommending improvements\n\nEssential Skills and Experience\n• Proven, hands-on Power BI experience building production-grade dashboards, with proficiency in DAX and Power Query\n• Strong SQL skills for data extraction, transformation and validation\n• Demonstrable experience in testing and validating reports against source systems\n• High data literacy, with the ability to work across structured and semi-structured data from multiple sources\n• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex findings clearly to varied audiences\n• Evidence of problem ownership, self-motivation and the ability to work independently\n\nDesirable Skills and Experience\n• Experience in regulatory or compliance reporting delivery, for example within financial services or a similarly regulated industry\n• Background in statistics, mathematics, econometrics or data science, through education or applied experience\n• Familiarity with Python or R for analytical or data preparation tasks\n• Exposure to cloud data platforms such as Google Cloud\n\nTypical Background and Qualifications\n• Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Business Analytics or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience\n• 2-5 years of experience in a business, data or reporting analyst role",
