The Role As a Business Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting Railpen’s Pension Investment Management (PIM) team, working within the Change & Transformation function to deliver high‑quality analysis across a range of strategic, investment‑focused initiatives. A core focus of the role will be Front Office change, with particular emphasis on Order Management Systems (OMS) and associated investment processes. The role requires a collaborative and flexible approach, with a strong focus on practical delivery. You will be expected to work closely within cross‑functional teams, adapt to changing priorities, and contribute directly to solution design, implementation, testing and adoption. You’ll produce accurate, timely and detailed analysis to support projects linked to Front Office systems, leveraging your knowledge of the trade lifecycle, settlement processes, and investment operations. Your work will include analysing business processes, data structures, and operational activities to capture well‑defined requirements that enable successful project outcomes. Acting as the bridge between PIM (Pension Investment Management) stakeholders and technical delivery teams, you will translate business needs into actionable specifications, support testing activities, and ensure that investment stakeholders remain fully engaged and informed throughout the project lifecycle. You’ll also contribute to high‑quality project documentation, promote consistent ways of working, and help embed sustainable improvements across the organisation. The Person You bring strong business and process analysis experience, with a clear customer focus and the ability to understand business needs and deliver practical, timely solutions. You confidently challenge and help set priorities, using strong analytical skills supported by SQL and Excel proficiency. You must have experience with Front Office systems, together with solid knowledge of the trade lifecycle and settlement processes. You will also have a strong understanding of investment products, including funds, ETFs, equities, fixed income and OTC instruments. In addition, you bring experience of FIX and desk‑based dealing applications, along with detailed experience implementing Charles River (CRIMS) or a similar OMS such as thinkFolio or Aladdin. As a clear and effective communicator, you translate technical concepts for business stakeholders and distil business requirements for technical teams. You produce high‑quality documentation, support testing activities and build strong collaborative relationships across teams. You work at pace, manage competing priorities and maintain high standards of accuracy and detail, approaching challenges with curiosity and a solution‑driven mindset. You proactively seek opportunities to improve processes and are comfortable constructively challenging the status quo. Above all, you role‑model our values of integrity, community and alignment, helping create a safe, collaborative environment and ensuring decisions reflect the best interests of our members.
