MacGregor Black is partnering with a growing consumer brand to recruit a Commercial Data Analyst who will play a critical role in translating retail and wholesale performance data into actionable insights for the sales team. This role will focus on analysing performance across key retail partners, identifying potential risks and opportunities, and ensuring sales teams are equipped with clear, data-driven insights when engaging with customers. The successful candidate will act as the bridge between data, commercial strategy, and retail performance, helping to ensure strong trading relationships and proactive account management. Key Responsibilities: • Analyse sales, sell-through, and inventory data across key retail and wholesale partners. • Monitor product performance to identify risks such as slowing sell-through, potential overstock, or lost sales opportunities. • Translate complex datasets into clear commercial insights that support sales strategy. • Provide regular reporting and performance dashboards to internal stakeholders. • Partner closely with the Sales team to highlight trading issues and opportunities with retailers. • Support account reviews by providing performance insights and data-backed recommendations. • Identify trends across channels, categories, and customers to support commercial planning. • Work cross-functionally with Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, and Marketing to ensure aligned commercial decision-making. • Improve reporting tools and processes to enhance visibility of retail performance. What We're Looking For: • Experience in a commercial analytics, sales analytics, or data analyst role within consumer goods, retail, or wholesale. • Strong experience analysing sell-through, retail performance, or commercial sales data. • Advanced Excel skills and experience with data visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar). • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into clear commercial insights. • Experience supporting sales or commercial teams with actionable reporting. • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders. • Highly organised with strong attention to detail. • Commercially curious with a strong problem-solving mindset. • Confident working with large datasets and identifying meaningful trends. • Proactive in identifying risks and opportunities within retail performance. • Collaborative and comfortable working cross-functionally with sales and commercial teams. • Able to simplify complex data into clear, actionable recommendations.
