  "job_description": "Junior Anaylst\n\nLocation: Plymouth\n\nSalary: £30,000 – £35,000 + Excellent Benefits\n\nCompany: Leading Maritime & Engineering Business\n\nCareer Opportunity\n\nA leading Maritime business in Plymouth is seeking a Junior Finance Analyst to support the Commercial Lead and Finance team in tracking, evaluating, and reporting on the financial performance of key projects. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone early in their finance career to gain exposure to project accounting and commercial finance, while developing advanced analytical skills and building a long-term career path in Finance.\n\nThe Role\n\nThe Junior Finance Analyst will maintain accurate financial data, update monthly trackers, and provide analysis to support effective decision-making across multiple projects. Working closely with Finance and Project teams, you’ll play a key role in ensuring accurate financial oversight and supporting future project success.\n\nResponsibilities\n• Contribute to the monthly financial reporting cycle\n• Support the preparation of forecasts and project financial plans\n• Generate cash flow profiles and monitor milestone payments\n• Work with Finance and Commercial teams to support invoicing\n• Update monthly financial trackers, budgets, and timesheets in real time\n• Ensure accuracy and integrity of project financial data, resolving discrepancies\n• Provide ad-hoc analysis to support decision making\n• Assist with compliance, audit preparation, and reporting improvements\n\nRequirements\n• Strong analytical and numerical ability with excellent attention to detail\n• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, complex formulas)\n• Ability to handle multiple data sources and reporting systems\n• Strong communication skills – able to explain financial performance clearly\n• Organised, proactive and able to meet deadlines\n\nDesirable\n• Experience in a finance, accounts, or budget-related role\n• Exposure to engineering, maritime, defence, or project-driven environments\n• Knowledge of compliance, audit, or PMO processes\n• Degree in Finance, Business, or Commercial discipline (or equivalent experience)\n\nWhy Join?\n\nThis is an excellent opportunity to join a market-leading Maritime business working on cutting-edge projects.
