  "job_description": "Who we are\n\nPeriskope Consulting is an boutique, independent advisory specialising in AI governance, risk & compliance. We support organisations in designing and implementing practical frameworks for responsible and safe AI use, bridging regulatory expectations with real-world delivery.\n\nThe work\n\nOur engagements focus on helping organisations design and operationalise data governance and responsible AI frameworks, from policy and risk assessments through to implementation in live environments.\n\nThis typically includes:\n• Data governance framework design (classification, lineage, stewardship, controls)\n• Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and AI risk assessments\n• Advisory on privacy-by-design in AI systems and data pipelines\n• Translating regulatory requirements into practical, implementable controls\n\nWho we're looking for\n\nYou’ll likely have:\n• 4+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Privacy, or closely related roles\n• Strong, hands-on experience conducting DPIAs, including in AI or automated decision-making contexts\n• Demonstrable experience advising clients on data privacy matters, not just internal compliance\n• Solid understanding of EU and UK GDPR, alongside exposure to US data protection regimes (e.g. CCPA/CPRA and similar frameworks)\n• Experience working with data used in AI systems (training data, model inputs/outputs, or downstream decision-making)\n\nRelevant qualifications (one or more)\n• CIPP (e.g. CIPP/E, CIPP/US), CIPM, CIPT\n• ISO 27001 Lead Implementer / Lead Auditor\n• Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)\n• Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP)\n• Or equivalent depth of practical experience\n\nExperience we particularly value\n• Applying privacy principles to AI use cases (fairness, bias, explainability, transparency)\n• Navigating common AI-related privacy challenges, such as:\n• Lawful basis for training data and secondary data use\n• Data minimisation vs. model performance trade-offs\n• Handling sensitive or special category data in AI contexts\n• Third-party/vendor risk in AI supply chains\n• Cross-border data transfers and localisation constraints\n• Translating regulatory expectations into clear, usable artefacts (policies, controls, templates)\n• A pragmatic, delivery-focused mindset with experience in client-facing environments\n\nEngagement model\n• Independent / contractor basis\n• Remote working (ideally within the UK, but we're open to EU-based professionals)\n• Flexible involvement depending on project scope\n\nIf this aligns, feel free to reach out or share your profile via DM.\n\nWe’re building long-term relationships with a small number of trusted collaborators.",
