  "job_description": "Role: Drainage (Civil) Engineer Location: Cambridge\nSalary: Up to £60k\nWorking pattern: Full-time. The role sits within a national consultancy environment and offers the chance to work on high-profile infrastructure, development, and environmental projects across the UK.\nYou will play a key role in technical delivery, project leadership, mentoring junior staff, and supporting the commercial success of projects, working closely with multidisciplinary teams across multiple offices.\nKey Responsibilities: Preparing risk assessments, site walkovers and coordinating survey works\nProducing technical reports including Flood Risk Assessments, Environmental Statement chapters and modelling reports\nUndertaking hydrological assessments using industry-standard methodologies and software (FEH, ReFH2, WINFAP)\nLiaising with water regulators, statutory authorities, clients and stakeholders\nManaging time and budgets with guidance from senior management\nMentoring and supporting junior team members\nContributing to surface water and foul drainage strategies and highway design\nProviding technical input to reports and fee proposals\nPreparing risk assessments, undertaking site walkovers and overseeing CCTV and survey works\nConsulting with regulators, statutory authorities and other stakeholders\nLiaising with clients and managing workloads and budgets The successful candidate: Degree qualified in Geography, Earth/Environmental Sciences or Engineering\n5-7+ years' consultancy experience in hydrology, flood risk, drainage or civil engineering\nChartered or working towards chartership (C.WEM, CEnv, CEng or equivalent)\nDemonstrable leadership experience including mentoring, team management and quality review\nStrong knowledge of flood risk and drainage policy and guidance (UK-wide)\nExperience producing high-quality technical reports, particularly Flood Risk Assessments\nFamiliarity with relevant software such as FEH, ReFH2, WINFAP, HEC-RAS, TUFLOW, ESTRY, Flood Modeller, Causeway Flow, PDS and CAD\nWorking knowledge of drainage legislation and agreements (e.g. S104, S38, S185) desirable\nStrong organisational, time and project management skills\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\nFull UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites\nEligibility to work in the UK",
