  "job_description": "At Syntegon Telstar UK Ltd., we represent the Syntegon Telstar range of aseptic and containment technologies and provide expert customer service, engineering, and technical support across the UK, Ireland, and Scandinavia.\n\nWith decades of experience in isolator technology, our multidisciplinary team delivers world-class after-sales solutions, upgrades, and lifecycle support for the pharmaceutical and life sciences industries.\n\nAs a Controls Software Engineer (Customer Service), you will play a key role in supporting, upgrading, and commissioning control systems and automation software for Telstar isolator and containment equipment.\n\nYou’ll work within a flexible, multi-skilled team to design, test, and implement PLC and SCADA/HMI solutions — ensuring compliance with GxP and GAMP standards. This hands-on position combines software design, system integration, and field service/commissioning both in the UK and internationally.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n• Provide service, software, and commissioning support to customers and internal teams.\n• Design, develop, and test PLC & SCADA control systems for upgrade and retrofit projects.\n• Manage data communications with third-party equipment and systems.\n• Validate and document software designs in line with GAMP and pharmaceutical standards.\n• Promote and implement Syntegon Telstar standard design practices to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.\n• Provide remote and onsite technical support, including troubleshooting and commissioning.\n• Travel within the UK and overseas to support installation and after-sales projects.\n\nEssential\n• HNC (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering\n• 3+ years’ experience in a controls or automation software role\n• Proficiency in PLC, HMI, and SCADA programming\n• Experience with Siemens TIA Portal (WinCC) and AVEVA InTouch (Wonderware)\n• Strong understanding of industrial machine control design and system integration\n• Good communication skills and ability to work directly with customers\n• IT literacy for industrial applications\n\nDesirable\n• Knowledge of Rockwell Studio 5000 / FactoryTalk\n• Experience with isolator or barrier systems\n• Background in pharmaceutical or regulated industries (GAMP, GMP, FDA)\n\nWhy Join Us?\n• Be part of a global leader in aseptic and containment technology\n• Work in a highly skilled, multidisciplinary engineering team\n• Opportunities for international travel and technical growth\n• Competitive compensation and comprehensive training",
