  "job_description": "SENIOR CIVIL ENGINEER\nBirmingham\n\nNew year, new job. Are you a Senior Civil Engineer with strong Section 278 and highway design expertise looking to take a lead role in Birmingham? This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Civil Engineer to step into technical leadership within a respected independent consultancy delivering complex infrastructure and development projects.\n\nYou will be based in the Birmingham office, working closely with a regional highways team while contributing to projects across the Midlands and further afield. The workload includes local highway improvements through to major residential and commercial schemes, supporting clients wherever their developments are located while remaining anchored to a strong local base.\n\nThe role\n\nAs a Senior Civil Engineer, you will take ownership of technical delivery while supporting team development and project performance.\n\nKey responsibilities include:\n\nLeading the design and delivery of S278 highway schemes and associated works\nProducing and reviewing designs using AutoCAD, Civil 3D and junction design software\nEnsuring compliance with DMRB, Manual for Streets and LTN 1/20\nCoordinating with local authorities, National Highways and developers\nLeading drainage design input and adoption processes for S38 and S104\nMentoring junior engineers and overseeing quality and standards\nSupporting fee proposals, bids and technical reporting\n\nAbout you\n\nThis role suits a confident Senior Civil Engineer ready to lead.\n\nYou will ideally have:\n\nA degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent\nAround 8 years' UK consultancy experience\nStrong experience delivering S278 access junction designs\nFamiliarity with local authority and National Highways processes\nProven leadership, communication and report-writing skills\n\nEligibility to Apply\n\nApplicants must already have the right to work in the UK.
