Youll join our new AI-native engineering team: small highly autonomous teams working in an entirely new way. With your peers youll contribute across the full product development lifecycledesign build test and deploy within a highly autonomous pod.\n\nThis isnt an experiment at OakNorth. Its the clear direction for all our development practices and youll be at the forefront of this innovation.\n\nYoull push the limits of modern AI tools then turn that capability into working systems used by real teams. Were looking for curious builderspeople who instinctively test compare break rebuild and optimize. Youll help shape what AI-native engineering culture looks like inside the bank. The focus is execution: rapid prototyping deployment and measurable impact.\n\nKey Responsabilities\n• Research emerging AI tools frameworks and coding methods\n• Experiment with new approaches and validate technical feasibility\n• Identify operational bottlenecks and redesign them using AI-native solutions\n• Prototype rapidly using tools like Claude Code Cursor Copilot and Codexthen deploy into live environments\n• Translate technical capability into business value\n• Test and compare emerging AI tools for business impact\n• Contribute to AI governance standards and best practices\n\nWhat youll gain\n• Direct exposure to multiple business functions and senior stakeholders\n• Hands-on experience designing and deploying automation and AI solutions in a regulated financial environment\n• Deep understanding of process optimization and automation best practices\n• The opportunity to contribute to the development of AI governance standards and best practices.\n• A portfolio of real AI and automation builds with measurable business impact\n\nRequirement\n\nEducation & Technical Skills\n• Strong understanding of software development principles best practices and system design\n• Fluency in AI coding tools (Claude Code Cursor Copilot Codex ChatGPT etc.)\n• Experience with Python and API integrations\n• Demonstrated ability to build projects or automations using AI tools\n• Ability to research AI concepts and translate them into practical business applications\n\nBehavioural & Analytical Skills\n• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to break down complex processes\n• Clear communication skills for working with cross-functional teams and senior leaders\n• Curiosity initiative and passion for exploring new technologies\n• Ability to work independently manage multiple stakeholders and deliver value in a fast-paced environment\n\nWe may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process such as reviewing applications analyzing resumes or assessing responses.
