  "job_description": "Junior Java Full-Stack Developer (d/f/m) – 1-year fixed-term contract\n\nAbout the Role\nWe are looking for a motivated Junior Java Full-Stack Developer (d/f/m) with strong German language skills to support our growing engineering team at an insurance client. The ideal candidate has fundamental full-stack knowledge, a strong willingness to learn, and the ability to collaborate in a bilingual (German/English) environment. This role involves contributing to end-to-end application development, maintenance, and further development of enterprise systems.\n\nIn this role, you will:\n\nBackend Development Develop and maintain backend components using Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful APIs. Support integration with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Oracle. Write clean, maintainable, and testable code in accordance with coding standards.\nContribute to debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.\nFrontend Development Build responsive web interfaces using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and frameworks such as Angular / React / Vue.js (basic knowledge sufficient).\nCollaborate with UI/UX teams to implement user interfaces and improve usability.\nDevOps & Tools Use Git for version control and participate in code reviews.\nWork with CI/CD tools (Jenkins/GitHub Actions/Azure DevOps) under supervision. Learn the basics of containerization (Docker knowledge is a plus).\nCollaboration & Communication\nWork closely with senior developers, testers, and business analysts. Communicate effectively with German-speaking stakeholders and team members. Participate in agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives).\n\nWork Model\n\nWe believe that hybrid work is the right approach, as we aim to offer as much flexibility as possible.\nBased on the requirements of this role, the position is hybrid or remote and open to qualified applicants throughout Germany.\nThe work arrangements reflect the status at the time of publication and may change depending on client or project requirements.\n\nWhat you should bring to the table 2–5 years of practical experience in Java development. Basic knowledge of: Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs Frontend frameworks (Angular/React/Vue.js)\nRelational databases (SQL) Familiarity with Git, JUnit, and build tools such as Maven/Gradle. Understanding of fundamental software development principles (OOP, MVC, microservices basics).\nGerman language skills at least at level B1 (according to the CEFR). Good English skills.\nWhat sets you apart Experience using AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or Anthropic Claude in day-to-day development.\nExperience with cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP). Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, or CI/CD pipelines. Knowledge of MongoDB or other NoSQL databases.\nBasic understanding of DevOps practices.\nPersonal qualities Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn. A team player with a proactive and responsible work ethic.\nAbility to work in multicultural and multilingual teams.
