  "job_description": "About the Role\n\nWe’re a health tech startup building reliable, secure systems that process sensitive health data at scale. We’re looking for a Senior Backend / Data Engineer to help design, build, and run our core backend and data infrastructure to support our applications and pipelines.\n\nThis is a hands-on role with real ownership across backend services, data pipelines, and cloud infrastructure.\n\nWhile we support flexible working, this is a hybrid role. We value in-person collaboration and expect the team to meet from time-to-time for planning, design sessions, and team alignment.\n\nWhat You’ll Do\n• Build serverless and containerised services on AWS\n• Design data pipelines and analytics workflows (Athena / Parquet)\n• Develop event-driven systems using SQS and Step Functions\n• Create and maintain GraphQL APIs\n• Work with DynamoDB and Postgres\n• Write production-quality Python\n• Manage infrastructure with Terraform / Terraform Cloud\n• Improve reliability, scalability, and observability\n\nTech Stack\n\nAWS (Lambda, ECS, SQS, Step Functions, Cognito) · Terraform · Terraform Cloud · Docker · GraphQL · Athena · Parquet · DynamoDB · Postgres · GitLab · Python\n\nWhat We’re Looking For\n• Senior-level experience in backend and/or data engineering\n• Strong AWS and cloud-native architecture experience\n• Experience running systems in production\n• Pragmatic, ownership-driven mindset\n• Comfortable working in a hybrid setup with regular in-person collaboration\n\nNice to Have\n• Experience in health tech, regulated environments, or sensitive data\n\nWhat We Offer\n• Hybrid working with regular in-person collaboration\n• Meaningful work in healthcare\n• Competitive salary\n• Small, experienced engineering team",
