  "job_description": "Senior Java Developer – AWS Cloud Backend\n\nLocation: Bracknell Area (Hybrid – 3 Days Office)\nSector: Digital Health / Medical Technology\n\nAre you a Senior Java Developer who enjoys designing scalable cloud platforms and building secure backend services that power modern digital products?\n\nWe’re working with an innovative medical technology company developing connected digital platforms and mobile applications used by customers worldwide.\n\nThey’re looking for a Senior Java Developer with strong AWS cloud experience to help design and build the backend services that power a growing digital health ecosystem.\n\nThis platform integrates mobile applications, connected devices and data-driven health services, creating a technically challenging and meaningful environment for experienced backend engineers.\n\nThe Role\n\nAs a Senior Java Developer you will design and develop scalable backend services and cloud infrastructure supporting mobile and connected-device platforms.\n\nYou’ll work closely with mobile engineers, DevOps, QA and product teams, helping shape the architecture of a growing cloud platform.\n\nThe role offers the opportunity to work across microservices, distributed systems and cloud-native architectures, contributing to both feature delivery and long-term system design.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n• Develop backend services using Java and AWS\n• Build scalable REST APIs and microservices\n• Design and optimise PostgreSQL databases\n• Implement secure OAuth-based authentication frameworks\n• Develop serverless components using AWS Lambda\n• Manage compute infrastructure using EC2\n• Build and maintain infrastructure using Terraform\n• Ensure high availability, scalability and security across cloud systems\n• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews and Agile ceremonies\n\nRequired Experience\n• Strong Java backend development experience\n• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services\n• Experience building REST APIs or microservices\n• Strong database experience with PostgreSQL or similar\n• Experience implementing secure authentication systems\n• Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform or similar)\n\nDesirable Experience\n• Experience building platforms supporting mobile or API-driven products\n• Experience working with serverless architectures\n• Experience working within regulated or high-reliability environments\n• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployment\n\nWhat’s on Offer\n• Hybrid working – 3 days per week in the office\n• Opportunity to work on technology improving people’s health and wellbeing\n• Collaborative engineering environment\n• Opportunity to influence the architecture of a growing cloud platform",
