Overview: SimVentions is excited to welcome a skilled Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning Software Engineer to our innovative team. We are looking for someone to design and implement next-generation analytics capabilities for intricate data environments. In this role, you'll leverage machine learning techniques—including anomaly detection, pattern recognition, and event analysis—to extract valuable insights from large-scale operational datasets. You’ll have the opportunity to take machine learning solutions from concept and experimentation into prototype development and operational integration. As an ideal candidate, you are a hands-on builder excited to collaborate with software engineers, system analysts, and subject matter experts to create intelligent tools that bolster data analysis, system evaluation, and decision-making in mission-focused environments. Travel: Local travel to NSWCDD for integration events. Clearance: An ACTIVE Secret Clearance is required for this position. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. US Citizenship is required to obtain a clearance. Requirements: • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. • 7-10 years of software development experience. • 3+ years of practical experience applying machine learning techniques in real-world scenarios. • Strong programming skills in Python. • Experience with developing data preprocessing pipelines and machine learning workflows. • Familiarity with time-series, telemetry, or event-based datasets. • Hands-on experience implementing anomaly detection or pattern recognition techniques. • Proven ability to deploy machine learning models in production environments. • Capable of thriving in collaborative engineering settings. • Currently holds a Secret clearance. Responsibilities: • Explore the integration of machine learning and artificial intelligence into existing software microservices. • Design and develop machine learning models for anomaly detection, pattern recognition, and analytical insights. • Utilize supervised and unsupervised learning methods to dissect complex system and event data. • Craft algorithms aimed at identifying trends, correlations, and patterns within sizable datasets. • Establish and maintain data processing pipelines to facilitate machine learning workflows. • Incorporate machine learning capabilities into production software systems and analytical tools. • Develop model architectures that adapt to changing data formats and system capabilities. • Collaborate with engineering and system teams for integration, testing, and evaluation of new features. • Optimize the performance of machine learning software components in specialized computing environments. • Participate in testing and evaluation to validate system performance and user experience. • Document algorithms, models, and system behavior for operational use and future development. Prototype Development & Integration Responsibilities: • Create deployable software prototypes that showcase machine learning capabilities in realistic testing scenarios. • Conduct user evaluation and testing to confirm model performance and usability. • Incorporate feedback from analysts and users to refine models and workflows. • Assist in integrating AI/ML capabilities into broader software and system architectures. • Contribute to the documentation and technical artifacts that enable prototypes to transition into operational usage. Preferred Skills and Experience: • Experience with complex sensor, telemetry, or system event data, particularly in Electronic Warfare. • Familiarity with sequence modeling, graph analytics, or time-series analysis. • Experience in developing interpretable machine learning models. • Proficiency in integrating machine learning capabilities into existing systems. • Background in testing, evaluation, or operational demonstration of advanced software capabilities. • Experience operating within government, defense, or regulated development environments. Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. Compensation: At SimVentions, compensation is determined by various factors, including experience, education, training, security clearance, work location, and alignment with our corporate compensation plan.
