  "job_description": "Contract Role: Senior Analytics Engineer – Telecom | Central London (Hybrid)\n\nLocation: Central London — 2 days per week onsite\n\nContract: 6 months initially\n\nDay Rate: £450–£550 (Inside IR35)\n\nStart: ASAP\n\nWe’re hiring an Analytics Engineer to support a major telecom client. This role sits between data engineering and analytics, building clean, scalable data models that fuel reliable insights across commercial, finance, and planning teams.\n\nWhat You’ll Do\n• Build scalable data models (marts, business layers, OBTs) that act as a single source of truth.\n• Lead end‑to‑end model development: requirements → build → testing → documentation → CI/CD deployment.\n• Uphold high coding standards in SQL and dbt; review and maintain clean, well‑structured analytics code.\n• Ensure data quality & PII protection using tests, validation, and secure handling practices.\n• Troubleshoot data issues across source → transformation → BI layers, owning fixes end‑to‑end.\n• Optimise & refactor existing models for performance and cost (BigQuery).\n• Manage orchestration & environments, including dev/prod troubleshooting.\n• Analyse new data sources and design models accordingly.\n• Communicate clearly with stakeholders, explaining technical concepts in plain language.\n• Own technical debt, documenting issues and advocating for resolution.\n\nWhat You Bring\n\nEssential\n• Expert SQL and advanced query writing\n• Strong data modelling (dimensional, marts)\n• Hands‑on experience with GCP BigQuery\n• Strong dbt Cloud/Core experience\n• Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem‑solving skills\n• Ability to trace lineage and diagnose issues independently\n• Experience with CI/CD, branching, merging, conflict resolution\n• Understanding of data quality frameworks & PII standards\n• Clear communication with technical and non‑technical stakeholders\n\nDesirable\n• Broader knowledge of modelling best practices\n• Agile delivery experience\n• Exposure to BI tools (Tableau etc.)\n• Query performance tuning & cloud cost optimisation\n• Strong ownership and independent working\n• Mentoring or community contribution experience\n\nIf you have the required skills & experience, please apply promptly to be considered",
