Job Title Platform Analyst Job Description This role sits within the Actuarial Platforms team, part of Global Technology Solutions, supporting technology used by Corporate Actuarial, Pricing, and Research & Development teams globally. The Actuarial Platforms team is responsible for the reliable operation of business-critical actuarial modelling and analytics platforms. Role Overview We are looking to grow our Actuarial Platforms function by recruiting an additional Platform Analyst. As an Actuarial Platforms Analyst, you will play a key role in ensuring that our actuarial platforms remain reliable, secure, well‑governed and available throughout the year. You will act as a bridge between actuarial teams and the wider Technology function that provides enterprise‑level controls and standards. Rather Than Being Tied To a Single Application, You Will Be Part Of a Pool Of Platform Analysts. Each Analyst Will Have a Primary Platform Focus, Alongside Responsibility For Developing Secondary Cover To Ensure All Platforms Run Smoothly Throughout The Year. The Platforms Supported By The Team Include • Actuarial modelling tools such as Tyche & Prophet • Our Assumptions Lifecycle Management platform, Harmony • Asset Cashflow Optimisation tools (e.g. FIS Adaptiv, FIS APT) • Analytics platforms, including EABS and Global Experience Analysis • Python and SQL‑based analytical environments • High‑performance computing platforms used for large-scale workflow orchestration e.g. Microsoft HPC Pack Role Responsibilities Platform Operation & Reliability • Support the day‑to‑day operation of actuarial platforms across all environments • Identify and resolve issues affecting model runs, data or platform performance • Support critical business activities across corporate actuarial, pricing & R&D • Support SQL‑based databases used by development and business teams • Help ensure Python and R‑based tools are properly managed, documented and production‑ready Monitoring, Documentation & Knowledge Sharing • Monitor platform health and usage, highlighting trends or risks • Maintain clear and auditable runbooks, procedures and documentation • Support training and knowledge‑sharing across the Actuarial Platforms team Resilience, Risk & Governance • Ensure platforms meet resilience requirements by setting and testing backup, recovery and disaster recovery processes • Work with Technology Risk, and internal & external Audit to provide assurance over controls and remediations where necessary Security & Access Control • Perform regular user and privileged access reviews • Manage service account credentials, certificates and other permissions • Assist with Threat Modelling and Penetration Testing Planning, Change & Lifecycle Management • Support demand intake and planning process to build out our quarterly plan & roadmap • Liaise with other Technology teams as required to ensure they have sight of our changes • Work with business and delivery teams to plan changes around key reporting windows • Support the introduction of platform changes via change control processes Essential Competencies Skills & Experience • Experience working in a systems, platform or technology support role • Strong problem‑solving skills & excellent attention to detail • Good working knowledge of scripting or analytical tools (e.g. Python, SQL, PowerShell) • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders • Ability to adapt and thrive under changing environments • Clear written and verbal communication skills and able to tailor communication to the intended audience • Ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of the organisation • Pro-actively works on own initiative & prioritises workload to achieve team goals • Customer service mindset and able to understand and prioritise internal customers’ needs • Exhibits professional approach to work Desirable • Experience in insurance or reinsurance environments • Understanding of regulated environments and audit requirements • Exposure to actuarial modelling or analytical platforms e.g. Tyche, Prophet • Some familiarity with high‑performance or distributed computing environments Working For Pacific Life Re Every person in our global team is valued for the unique qualities they bring to our business and we seek to build their expertise and support their individual ambitions at every step.
