You will own significant features end-to-end, tackle technical hurdles, and enrich the team through your engineering experience, including mentorship of junior engineers. You will guide projects with multiple engineers collaborating to deliver major features. You will work jointly in a cross-functional team, including working closely with Product Managers to advocate for technical initiatives for the team.\n\nThis position reports to our Engineering Manager, who is based in London, and is looking for someone to join the team in our London office. Please note, this is a hybrid position with an expectation to be in the office 2-3 times per week.\n\nWhat you’ll do\n• Develop and maintain Dialpad's web & desktop applications using modern technologies.\n• Write clear and complete architectural design documents that other team members can easily understand.\n• Provide estimates on technical resources and requirements necessary to plan and begin projects.\n• Develop and maintain the WFM web application and services using modern technologies.\n• Write clean, modular, and maintainable code using best practices along with unit tests.\n• Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality, maintainability, and scalability.\n• Ensure that features are shipped on time and with the highest quality.\n• Take on-call activities to support and resolve issues arising from QA and customers.\n• Be responsible for deploying new releases on a weekly release cadence.\n• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build and use standard components and practices across Dialpad products.\n• Mentor junior engineers and help them grow their skills and expertise.\n\nSkills you’ll bring\n• 8+ years of experience in software engineering.\n• Strong experience with Python/TypeScript or other languages, Vue/React, Node.js, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, GraphQL, and cloud infrastructures [Google Cloud Platform is a plus].\n• Experience with performance and optimization problems and a demonstrated ability to both diagnose and prevent them.\n• Experience with databases, SQL/NoSQL.\n• Experience with building reusable and modular components, both frontend and backend.\n• Experience with mentoring junior engineers and helping them grow their skills.\n• Experience with highly agile and iterative development processes.\n• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.\n• Strong communication and collaboration skills.\n\nWe believe in investing in our people.
