  "job_description": "We are looking for a talented and motivated intern to join our team developing physical layer (PHY*) software for our 4G and 5G products. The position is a 12-month internship at our office in the centre of Bristol, where you will be working alongside a team of approximately 50 people, part of a larger (500+) international R&D team motivated by building the future of telecoms.\nIf you are looking for a chance to work on cutting edge, disruptive technology, and gain invaluable experiencein a well-paid internship in the centre of Bristol - Parallel Wireless is for you.\nWhat you'll do:\n\nYou will be involved in the development, optimisation, integration, and validation of real-time PHY software and wireless algorithms onthe latest Intel / AMD / ARM CPUs.\nIntegrate and test physical layer features on servers within lab and AWS cloud environments.\nCreate and improve test and debug tools that make up part of our software release packages.\nUse mobile phones (Android), emulators and other RF equipment.\n\nWhat you'll gain:\n\nHands‑on experience of developing real‑time embedded C/C++ software in the Linux environment, using docker containers and kubernetes\nUnderstanding of modern CPU instruction sets and SIMD programming\nExperience of working in a modern software development environment (git, JIRA, Bitbucket, Jenkins, etc)\nAn understanding of wireless algorithms and digital signal processing concepts\nExperience of working in multi‑national Agile teams, familiarity with modern Scrum and SAFe ways of thinking and working\n\nWhat you must have:\n\nStrong C and/or C++ programming skills (assessed at technical interview)\nExperience of script language (ideally Python)\nExposure to digital signal processing or wireless software algorithms- advantage\n\nDuring your internship you'll get:\n\n25 days of annual leave a year (pro‑rata) and an extra day off in the month of your birthday\nMonthly team lunches, a kitchen stocked daily with fresh healthy fruits & snacks, and activities with the team (lunchtime table tennis, chess, running, etc.)\nPrivate medical care + medical/dental cash plan\nPersonal travel insurance\nCycle to work scheme\nOpt in 5% employer contribution pension\nSalary between £28-30k per annum\nFlexible working hours\n•",
