Job DescriptionWe have exciting opportunities for bright graduates to join our 3GPP Wireless Research and Standards team. This global team works on the definition of 6G wireless communication standards. In your role as Graduate Wireless Research and Standards Engineer, you will be involved in defining our research vision and promoting our proposals within 3GPP and related standard bodies, at either physical layer or protocol stack level. This position will provide an opportunity to become directly involved in the definition of next generation of cellular wireless communication systems. This varied position will give you experience of •Definition of advanced wireless communication standards (5G Advanced, 6G). •Tools and simulations to quantify expected modem performance at algorithmic, system and protocol levels. •Interaction with modem R&D team members implementing leading-edge technology. •Actively influencing the future of wireless communications with our standard proposals. RequirementYou’ll be expected to •Thinking out of the box to identify creative solutions to research problems. •Be motivated by finding innovative solutions for the most technically demanding problems. •Be self-motivated and able to work both autonomously and as an active team player. •Be a clear and concise communicator, both written and verbally. We require you to already have •A good engineering degree in Telecommunications, Wireless Communications, or equivalent, preferably at MSc or PhD level. •Programming experience on performance simulators. •Good mathematical skills. •Ideally have familiarity with any wireless communication system. Location This role will be based at our Cambourne office, based 9 miles from Cambridge city centre (with frequent direct bus services).
