  "job_description": "Job Description\n\nPlatform Engineer | Public Sector Legacy Modernisation (Active NPPV and SC)\n\nRate: Up to  500 per day (Inside IR35)\n\nLocation: London / Remote Hybrid\n\nDuration: 6 Months (Initial)\n\nClearance: Active NPPV and SC Clearance (Mandatory)\n\nThe Role\n\nOur client, a global consultancy, is seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to support a business-critical programme within the UK Public Sector.\n\nThis role is a unique blend of high-level infrastructure maintenance and modern automation. You will be responsible for the stability and performance of complex legacy environments while driving the adoption of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing. You will act as the technical backbone for a diverse estate, ensuring that critical applicationsfrom Oracle databases to WebLogic serversremain robust and scalable.\n\nTechnical Responsibilities\n• Infrastructure Maintenance: Troubleshooting and maintaining business-critical legacy applications including WebLogic, Elasticsearch, and Oracle.\n• Database Administration: Installing and supporting Oracle 11 (including Partitioning, RAC, and RMAN). Knowledge of PL/SQL is highly desirable.\n• Automation and DevOps: Building and supporting CI/CD pipelines, refactoring infrastructure code, and developing automated test suites.\n• Virtualisation and Containers: Hands-on management of Docker and VMWare ESX v6 environments.\n• Web and Middleware: Managing Nginx, Apache Tomcat/HTTP, and supporting ETL processes.\n• Diverse OS Management: Proficiency across Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8, Oracle Solaris 10, and Windows Server (2008/2016/2019).\n\nKey Requirements\n• Active NPPV and SC Clearance: You must currently hold active SC Clearance.
