Location: Hybrid - Bournemouth, United Kingdom (3 days working from office) Salary: Competitive + Benefits Flexible On-Call Support (Optional) After 6-12 months in role, there is an optional opportunity to participate in a 24/7 on-call Rota (approximately once every 5-6 weeks) with a fixed allowance. This is entirely flexible and voluntary. How will you make an impact in this role? We are seeking a highly motivated Associate Software Developer to join our team in developing EPOS and stock management solutions. The successful candidate should have a basic understanding of the software development process, with at least some experience in either front-end, back-end, or Android mobile application development. Suitable candidates should either have some pre-existing experience working in the software development industry or be a graduate from a computer science degree or similar. What We Expect of You, Day To Day: • Develop features into new and existing projects in accordance with customer requirements • Write and maintain meaningful unit tests to help enforce a high level of code coverage on projects • Participate in code review processes and contribute to the writing of technical documentation • Rectify bugs and eliminate technical debt from a varied tech stack • Support test resource by building and deploying artifacts to environments • Participate and contribute to group-driven agile processes such as grooming, refinement and story pointing sessions • Attend daily stand-up meetings and collaborate with relevant stakeholders • Comply with all legislation, codes of practice, health and safety and GDPR compliance appropriate to the role Qualifications Required: • Experience developing with the Java programming language or similar such as C# • Knowledge of front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS & JavaScript • Strong problem-solving and communication skills • Strong documentation and reading skills Desirable: • Android development • Knowledge of AWS • Knowledge of MySQL • An understanding of RESTful web APIs • Experience with various Atlassian products such as Jira and Bitbucket • Understanding of branching strategies using source control such as git Personal Qualities • Self-motivated with a professional and positive approach • Commitment to contributing to improving our development quality and the overall quality of our product set Commitment to continuous learning and development • An analytical mind, with strong attention to detail • Ability to solve problems efficiently and thoroughly We offer comprehensive benefits to support our team members and their families' well-being.
