  "job_description": "Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Data Centre Engineer\n\nOur client, a leading UK edge infrastructure provider, is seeking a skilled Mechanical & Electrical Engineer to join their team. This role is essential for managing and maintaining the critical systems that underpin their national network of data centres.\n\nAs an M&E Engineer, you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of all electrical and mechanical systems on-site. You will ensure the facility remains safe, secure, and fully operational while providing technical support to both internal teams and external clients.\n\nMaintenance & Repairs: Perform \"first fix\" M&E tasks, fabric repairs, and scheduled Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) to ensure building integrity.\nSystem Monitoring: Conduct environment monitoring and provide \"smart hands\" support for customers and technical teams.\nProject Support: Manage small project works independently and provide supervision for larger-scale infrastructure tasks.\nSafety & Compliance: Rigidly follow health and safety procedures, maintain site security, and manage incident escalations.\nAssist with rack installations, cabling for cooling efficiency, and maintain stock control of critical spares.Qualifications: Completed electrical apprenticeship with BS 7671 18th Edition wiring regulations.\nV. switching, HVAC systems, UPS circuitry, and Generators.\nSystem Knowledge: Familiarity with BMS systems and Fire Preventative Systems.\nIT Literacy: Basic skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.\nAbility to work 37.5 hours per week on a shift pattern (between 7 am and 7 pm) - Potentially open to discussion.\nFlexibility: Willingness to provide holiday cover and overtime support as required.Our client prides itself on a culture where well-being is as important as career development.
