This is a high-impact, strategic role for a technical leader who is excited by complex architectural challenges and wants to strengthen the technical foundations that power our product evolution and global expansion.\nWhile you may not have direct reports, you will \"lead through influence,\" ensuring that the DLX platform remains scalable, performant, and reliable as we evolve our core technology. You will drive technical standards to enable teams to solve challenges effectively and deliver predictably while fostering a culture of high technical ambition.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n• Architectural Vision: Lead the design and evolution of complex, distributed systems that meet both immediate product requirements and long-term operational health.\n• Engineering Excellence: Set the \"gold standard\" for engineering practices around testing, observability, and resilience, ensuring our core systems remain maintainable and robust.\n• Financial Correctness: Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of core financial workflows across complex and evolving system states.\n• Strategic Impact: Participate in engineering-wide leadership initiatives that progress our overall technical strategy and architectural standards.\n• Cross-Functional Alignment: Partner with Business and Engineering leadership to align technical roadmaps with business-critical initiatives.\n• Complexity Navigation: Act as the primary technical point of contact for the most ambiguous and high-risk projects, providing the clarity needed to deliver consistently.\n• Stakeholder Communication: Translate complex technical concepts into business contexts, ensuring stakeholders are informed of risks, trade-offs, and long-term technical debt.\n• Technical Coaching: Foster the growth of senior and mid-level engineers through deep-dive code reviews, design docs, and technical mentorship.\n• Culture of Excellence: Create a team environment where engineers are empowered to do great work, discuss technical challenges candidly, and \"disagree then commit\".\n• Bar Raiser: Participate in hiring and onboarding to ensure we continue to scale a world-class, diverse engineering team.\n\nSkills, Knowledge and Expertise\n• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or another STEM field.\n• 8+ years building complex production systems.\n• Strong expertise in TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, or Java.\n• Deep understanding of:\nDistributed systems & state management\nCloud-native architectures\nTesting strategy in complex domains\nFinancial correctness and data integrity\n• Experience leading design reviews and influencing roadmap decisions.\n• Experience in fintech, corporate banking, or capital markets.\n• Experience improving engineering standards across teams.\n• Comfort operating in high-ambiguity startup environments.\n\nDesirable:\n• AI & Data Literacy: Experience building or integrating AI/ML services with a \"systems-thinking\" approach.\n• Start-Up Experience: Proven ownership of a subsystem or domain in a high-stakes environment.\n• Regulated Environments: Experience operating within frameworks like SOC2, ISO 27001, or GDPR.",
