  "job_description": "Location – London (Waterloo)\n\nSalary – £70k – £85k\n\nsamuel.robinson@forsythbarnes.com\n\nSenior Full-Stack Engineer\n\nWe’re looking for a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to join an established development programme building and evolving a production-critical internal trading platform for a large enterprise client.\n\nThis is a long-term, actively evolving system where performance, reliability, and maintainability are key. You’ll join a highly experienced team of senior engineers and QA specialists, working in an environment that values technical ownership, autonomy, and thoughtful engineering decisions.\n\nWhat you’ll be doing\n• Designing, building, and maintaining features across the full stack of a trading platform\n• Taking end-to-end ownership of features from design through to production\n• Collaborating closely with platform and DevOps engineers on build pipelines, observability, and operational improvements\n• Communicating directly with stakeholders to clarify requirements and propose technical solutions\n• Contributing to and improving automated testing practices\n• Participating in peer code reviews and helping maintain high engineering standards\n• Using AI-assisted development tools (including the latest LLM models) as part of day-to-day engineering workflows\n\nTech Stack\n\nYou’ll primarily be working with:\n• TypeScript (Node.js & React)\n• Monorepo tooling, GitHub, GitHub Actions\n• Jest, Playwright\n• Redis, MS SQL, WebSockets\n• Docker, Kubernetes\n• Observability tooling (Grafana, Prometheus, SonarQube)\n\nRequirements\n• 8+ years of professional software development experience\n• 3+ years hands-on TypeScript experience, including Node.js and React\n• Strong experience building and maintaining production-grade systems\n• Comfortable working within a senior, autonomous engineering team\n• Excellent communication skills and fluent English\n• Able to work hybrid from Waterloo, London\n\nNice to Have\n• Experience with functional programming concepts or languages (e.g. OCaml, Haskell)\n• Previous experience in trading, finance, or other real-time systems\n• Good understanding of DevOps and operational practices (logging, metrics, automation)\n• London-based\n• Willingness to attend occasional company or client events\n\nBenefits\n• 5 days per year dedicated to training\n• £1,000 annual training allowance (up to 50% usable for home workstation equipment)\n• Company equipment and onboarding kit\n• Quarterly in-person team events\n• Annual performance bonus\n• Stock option plan\n• Birthday off\n• Generous employee referral programme",
