  "job_description": "Backend Engineer – C#, .Net, Azure | Payments Financial Services | £600/day outside IR35| Hybrid\n\nWe’re partnering with a leading financial services firm in the FinTech payment space that’s investing heavily in modernising its technology stack. With a new tech leader driving innovation, the focus is on building in-house systems that are scalable, reliable, and future-ready.\n\nAbout the Role\n\nBackend Engineer position You’ll take ownership of building and enhancing key client-facing applications using C#, .Net, Azure. As a Backend Engineer you will have tried and tested experience joining a FinTech/Financial Services company at the stage of 0-50 employees. This company is looking to grow significantly, building out 4 new engineering teams include Seniors and Team Leads.\n\nThe work spans complex financial products, so you’ll have the chance to engage with both technical and business stakeholders across the UK.\n\n💰 Paying up to £600 per day (Outside IR35)\n\n🏢 1–2 days per week on-site in London area\n\n📄 6 month rolling contract\n\nKey Responsibilities\n• Collaborate with back-end engineers working in C# to deliver seamless integrations.\n• Participate in design discussions and help modernise legacy front-end components.\n• Ensure code quality through testing and best practices.\n• Work in a collaborative, cross-functional global team (QA, BA, Dev).\n• Contribute ideas to improve usability, scalability, and performance.\n\nTech Stack\n• C#, .Net, Azure, SQL\n\nYou will need to have:\n• Expert in the latest versions of .NET Framework and .NET Core (C#)\n• Experience in API (REST, GraphQL) design and development\n• Experience in relational database design and optimization (MSSQL, MySQL, etc.)\n• Experience in the deployment and management of cloud (AWS, Azure, etc.) assets\n• Experience with end-to-end testing and agile practices\n• Strong communication and problem-solving skills\n• Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed team\n• Financial Services/FinTech experience\n\nIf you’re a passionate Backend Engineer who enjoys building high-quality, scalable applications and wants to be part of a team modernising financial systems, we’d love to hear from you.\n\nApply now by sending your CV to alfie@virtuetech.io or by replying directly to this advert.\n\nBackend Engineer – C#, .Net, Azure | Payments Financial Services | £600/day outside IR35| Hybrid",
