  "job_description": "Research Assistant (Audio Data Collection)\n\n📍 Location: Cambridge Onsite\n\n📅 Contract: 11 months (potential extension)\n\n⏰ Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM\n\n💰 Bonus: 10%\n\nAbout the Role\n\nWe are hiring a Research Assistant to support cutting-edge audio research within a state-of-the-art data collection facility based near Cambridge. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside engineers and researchers developing next-generation technologies focused on redefining how people hear and communicate in complex environments.\n\nYou will play a key role in supporting data collection, working directly with participants, and ensuring high-quality data and metadata capture. Over time, you will also take ownership of running experiments and supporting technical demonstrations.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n• Support and execute data collection activities in a controlled research environment\n• Work closely with engineers during data collection campaigns\n• Assist participants (internal & external) and guide them through tasks and processes\n• Accurately record, manage, and validate metadata with high attention to detail\n• Coordinate with project teams for scheduling and smooth daily operations\n• Conduct data validation and quality checks\n• Support experiment setup and simple technical configurations\n• Run selected data collection sessions and demonstrations independently\n• Assist with administrative and operational tasks as required\n\nRequired Skills & Experience (Non-Negotiable)\n• Bachelor’s degree (e.g. Natural Sciences, Psychology, Humanities or similar)\n• 2–4 years’ experience in research, data collection, or experimental environments\n• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills\n• Experience working with participants / stakeholders (good interpersonal skills)\n• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar tools\n\nNice to Have\n• Basic programming knowledge (Python or R)\n• Experience working with prototype devices\n• Understanding of audio (academic or practical – e.g. music production, recording)",
