  "job_description": "This vacancy is for candidates who are based in the UK and willing to travel and/or work remotely.\n\nPurpose\n\nThe Standards Verifier plays a key role in maintaining the integrity and consistency of vocational qualifications by ensuring that assessment and internal verification practices meet national standards. This involves providing expert subject-specific support to centres, conducting sampling and verification activities, delivering clear and constructive feedback, and contributing to the ongoing development of quality assurance processes. Through regular training, collaboration with internal teams, and engagement with centres, the Standards Verifier helps uphold Pearson’s commitment to high-quality, reliable assessment.\n\nCore Services\n\nWhen carrying out your role; please be mindful that you represent Pearson and that you should always maintain your professional integrity. Therefore, it is essential that you:\n\nEnsure compliance with all parts of the terms and conditions and other policies.\n\nAct at all times in a way which will not bring Pearson, it’s employees and its representatives into disrepute.\n\nAdhere to Pearson policies and guidance related to data privacy and security of information.\n\nRemain respectful and advocate for others to ensure diversity, equity, and inclusion, in a professional manner.\n\nRaise any concerns if you suspect or are made away of any malpractice, maladministration and/ or Safeguarding issues.\n\nAdhere to deadlines given by Pearson and ensure that all work is carried out to the best of an individual’s ability.\n\nRespect the confidentiality of centres and learners.\n\nYou are responsible for the provision of your own IT equipment and must therefore ensure it is capable of running Pearson required software, relevant malware, appropriate anti-virus software and a suitable internet connection. As well as this we require a Personal email address attached to a secure account. (This cannot be a work email)\n\nCollaborate and communicate in a timely manner with Pearson.\n\nRole Specific Services and Expectations\n\nIn addition to Pearson's core service expectations, this role requires the following specialised responsibilities:\n\nStay up to date with relevant qualification specifications and, where applicable, National Occupational Standards.\n\nProvide expert advice, guidance, and support tailored to your subject area and in line with verification requirements.\n\nAttend and complete all mandatory training and annual standardisation activities within required timelines.\n\nConduct centre visits as required for qualifications involving visiting verification, following guidance from the Assessment team and subject to approval.\n\nAdhere to Pearson’s quality assurance processes and follow prescribed sampling strategies for allocated qualifications.\n\nReview learner work and internal verification records to ensure accuracy and compliance.\n\nEnsure assessment decisions are valid, consistent, and aligned with national standards.\n\nProvide constructive feedback and support to centres during the sampling process.\n\nProduce comprehensive and actionable sampling reports for each centre visited.\n\nClearly communicate when standards are not met and outline the necessary corrective actions.\n\nAssist centres in addressing issues, implementing improvements, and maintaining ongoing compliance.\n\nIdentify and recommend suitable learner work or assessment materials for use in future training and standardisation events.\n\nMaintain regular communication with your Pearson supervisor and work collaboratively with internal teams.\n\nThis role requires a proactive approach to quality assurance and a commitment to maintaining Pearson’s high standards across all responsibilities.\n\nExperience and Qualifications required:\n\nExperience:\n\nAs a representative of the company, you will be expected to have experience in, or be able to demonstrate the ability of the following:\n\nStrong background in quality assurance and assessment practices.\n\nExperience in verifying regulated qualifications.\n\nExceptional communication skills.\n\nProven ability to deliver and coordinate training sessions, including standardisation and other standards-focused activities.\n\nIn-depth knowledge of specifications relevant to your specialist sector, encompassing both internal.\n\nExamples of previous leadership or support roles in essential quality assurance activities.\n\nQualifications:\n\nQualifications required to apply for your chosen role at Pearson will depend on the qualification you are delivering.
