  "job_description": "Job Description\n\nMediaTek make the complex 5G semiconductor chips at the heart of smartphones, tablets, voice assistants and IoT devices. You will join a friendly team in Cambridge developing systems, tools and software that are used globally to intelligently validate the embedded software written for our chips.\n\nOur systems execute on LINUX and Windows servers as well as on lab PCs. They collect vital data, intelligently adapt the validation and manage the valuable hardware resources around the world. Our software is mainly written in Python, C++ and C#. We use databases to resiliently store TB of data and web languages to display sophisticated dashboards.\n\nYou will be adding new features and AI to our software – improving capability, performance, and user experience. Our systems are used by 1000s of developers worldwide and you’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with R&D colleagues in UK, Finland, India, Taiwan, and China.\n\nIn this role you’ll be exposed to diverse real-world challenges and multiple programming languages - a great asset for your future career.\n\nYou’ll be…\n• On track to obtain a Bachelor/master’s or PhD in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or a related discipline.\n• Passionate about software programming and eager to apply your skills to real-world projects.\n• Experienced in at least one object-oriented language such as Java, C++, C#, or Python\n• A strong problem solver, always looking for innovative solutions.\n• Motivated to learn new technologies and engineering approaches, including the application of ML and AI.\n\nIn addition, one or more of the following would be great (but not essential):\n• Interest in developing smart tools to automate and optimize complex activities.\n• Experience or curiosity in working with databases and manipulating large datasets, with or without AI.\n• Familiarity with programming in Linux or Windows application environments.\n• Enthusiasm for mobile technology and a desire to learn more about the inner workings of smartphones and related devices.\n\nRequirement\n\nWhat We’ll Offer You In Return\n• A full-time, paid internship in our modern open-plan R&D Center near Cambridge.\n• Varied experience working on real projects in a leading global high-tech company.\n• The chance to join a friendly and supportive local team with opportunities to collaborate with colleagues around the world.\n• Exposure to a wide range of programming languages and technologies, enhancing your future career prospects.\n\nDuration\n\nThis is a full-time internship starting in 2026, with a flexible start date.
