It is built on proprietary Deep Learning algorithms at the forefront of AI. With Ansys SimAI, users can train AI models using simulation results and reliably predict the performance of complex problems in minutes instead of hours or days. It empowers users to make faster decisions, iterate more quickly, and ultimately drive faster innovation.\n\nThe Lead R&D Engineer will lead a team of ML Engineers to develop new features for the SimAI product. The scope of the position includes everything from designing and training cutting-edge models to developing robust production code. The Lead R&D Engineer’s time will be divided between owning the technical roadmap, mentoring junior team members, and performing operational work.\n• *Key Duties and Responsibilities**:\n\n- Leads the creation of architectures for neural networks tailored to specific tasks, such as image recognition, natural language processing, or speech recognition\n- Leads planning, architecture, or research at a project level\n- Coordinates product design and development activities requiring extensive analysis in areas such as user experience, software design and solver research. Acts as a technical reference within a group or product\n- Develops and employs best practices and maintains them through technical reviews and mentoring\n- Performs complex bug verification, release testing and beta support across multiple products. Research problems discovered by QA or product support and develops solutions, collaborating with the QA/support team\n- Researches and understands the marketing requirements for products, including target environment, performance criteria and competitive issues. May work with strategic customers or proxies to assess needs and develop solutions\n- Operates without direct supervision and may function as a team leader, project manager, or software architect\n- May be responsible for line management of a small technical team but primary duties are of an individual technical nature\n• *Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience**:\n\n- BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 8 years’ experience, MS with 6 years’ experience, or PhD with 4 years’ experience\n- Significant experience with Python, Deep Learning libraries and MLOps tooling\n- Proven track record of crafting robust and efficient code\n- Proven track record of developing Deep Learning models for commercial software\n- Experience in leading technical teams\n• *Preferred Qualifications and Skills**:\n\n- Experience leading projects and delivering high-quality products in a large-scale commercial software development environment\n- Ability to translate business needs into development plans\n- Ability to overcome obstacles and drive projects to completion\n- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills\n- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and geographies, and to mentor junior developers\n\nAt Ansys, we know that changing the world takes vision, skill, and each other.
