  "job_description": "World Class Defence Organisation based in Bristol is currently looking to recruit an Algorithm Software Engineer on an initial 6 month contract, with very likely extension. The role will be onsite 4 days per week. A 4 day working week is OK (Monday to Thursday).\n\nRate: £70.00 per hour\nOvertime Rate: Hours worked over the standard 37 hours per week, will be paid at ‘time and a quarter’\nLocation: Bristol\nHybrid / Remote working: The role will be onsite 4 days per week. Contracts are often ongoing and long-term thereafter.\nIR35 status: Inside IR35 (Umbrella)\nInterview process: One stage video interview\n\nJob Description:\n\nWork alongside algorithm engineers and technical expert to transcode a large, complex legacy algorithm codebase from ADA to Matlab\nAs part of a wider team, define, distribute and review core activities to enable efficient completion of the transcoding within project timeframe.\nDevelop test harnesses and provide robust and extensive testing procedures to ensure equivalence between transcoded code base and legacy ADA algorithms\nFollow Code of Practise (CoP) in developing Matlab algorithms to ensure compatibility with auto-coding tools, rectifying/resolving issues and reframing algorithms as necessary to ensure compatibility with tool chain.\nBuild good working relationships with stakeholders, including downstream software team, to enable effective transfer and integration of Matlab algorithm artefacts into larger product\nSupport resolution of queries and non-compliances\nSkillset/experience required:\n\nEssential:\n\nExperience writing, delivering and testing algorithm related software\nExperience writing software/algorithms within Mathworks tools\nVerification of requirements and evidence review\nRapid assimilation of technical information\nAbility to work as part of a team\nDesirable:\n\nExperience writing, interpreting ADA code\nSpecific tools knowledge: IBM Engineering Workflow Management / GIT\nSea launched weapons experience\nExperience with C",
