Redefine What’s Possible.\n\nWe’re working with an early-stage deep tech company developing a next-generation analytical platform at the intersection of machine learning, mathematics, and experimental science.\n\nThey’re now hiring one of their first technical team members, a Machine Learning Research Engineer, to help design and develop the core ML-driven analysis engine that underpins the entire platform.\n\nThis is not a narrow modelling role. It’s an opportunity to help define the research direction, shape the technical foundations, and influence how the platform evolves from day one.\n\nYou’ll work closely with scientific leadership to translate complex experimental challenges into robust mathematical models and scalable software systems.\n\nWhat You’ll Be Doing\n• Designing novel algorithmic and machine learning approaches to interpret complex scientific data\n• Developing mathematical models (including probabilistic / Bayesian methods)\n• Building proof-of-concept tools and production-ready Python systems\n• Managing and improving data pipelines from experimental instrumentation\n• Continuously evaluating, refining, and stress-testing models\n• Collaborating with scientists to solve emerging analytical challenges\n\nThis is a hands-on research-meets-engineering role with real ownership and technical depth.\n\nWhat They’re Looking For...\n\nEssential\n• STEM degree (undergraduate or above)\n• Strong Python software engineering skills\n• Comfort working with mathematical modelling and statistical methods\n• Intellectual curiosity and willingness to explore new approaches\n\nNice to Have\n• Experience in machine learning (research or applied)\n• Probabilistic modelling or Bayesian methods\n• Exposure to scientific or experimental datasets\n• Interest in biology, chemistry, physics, or drug discovery\n\nCandidates at a range of levels will be considered, from exceptional recent graduates to PhD or industry-experienced researchers.
